Faith that Moves Sons

image

I crouched over Tia as she tugged effortlessly at Mommy’s milk station, the nightly ritual that lulls Kaylee to sleep. My hand gently twirled her locks of hair as I prayed over my baby girl. Luke, little 2 1/2 year old first born Luke, walked over and put his hand on his sister’s stomach.

“Pray Tia pray night-night pray Je-us. Amum.”

It was the cutest prayer I’d ever heard. And possibly the most effective.

See, God doesn’t honor eloquence or well-referenced lists in prayer. He honors faith. And when God is for something and your prayer matches that desire in faith, watch out. Awesomeness will ensue.

imageLike this story we read together that I love,

On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! Joshua 10.12,14

In light of this, what Jesus says makes total sense,

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17.20

Jesus isn’t kidding that faith can move mountains. It’s simple faith, not rock-star prayers, that start as little mustard seeds yet move kingdoms in God. Like the unquestioning mumblings of a little boy by his sister’s bedside.

Want to see miracles happen? Believe one of these prayers. Want to see God’s favor move in your life? Start praying them. Simple ones, mustard seed prayers — mumblings of children by the bedside of a God who simply IS and will never be questioned.

He wants you to believe, because he will do amazing things in your life when you pray a simple prayer of faith.

imageFaith like a child is the limitless force of God on this earth.

Mustard seed faith asks and believes, and the Lord moves mountains infinitely bigger than the mumblings of that original prayer.

“Pray Tia. Amum.”

imageThis faith stops suns in their tracks in the middle of the sky to shine light on the world. It moves sons by a crib-side in the middle of a bedtime prayer to become Men of God who do the same.
